Adcal D3 tablets contain calcium and vitamin D3 which are both essential for healthy bones and teeth. If you buy Adcal D3 tablets online, or from your local pharmacy, and commence treatment they will provide extra calcium and vitamin D3 in the form of choleciferol to your diet. It is therefore used in conditions where your body’s calcium and vitamin D levels need to be increased.
Adcal D3 tablets can be prescribed to those with osteoporosis or osteomalacia, as well as those with specific dietary requirements or deficiency in calcium or vitamin D.
Calcium is part of our diet and is often found in dairy, nuts and spinach, it is essential for bone formation and health. Vitamin D can be acquired from sunlight as well as dairy and fish. Vitamin D is also required for the absorption of calcium so a lack of it can cause calcium deficiency. This is why you will often find them sold together in supplements.
Adcal D3 tablets are chewable meaning they should not be swallowed whole. You should chew two Adcal D3 tablets twice a day, ideally one in the evening and one and night.
You can buy Adcal D3 tablets online from e-Surgery, simply answer a 2 minute health questionnaire and have your Adcal D3 tablets delivered to your door.

If you forget to take your tablet, take it as soon as possible and continue to take the tablets as normal. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet.
Vitamin D helps regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body. These nutrients are needed to keep bones, teeth, and muscles healthy. A lack of vitamin D can lead to bone deformities such as rickets in children, and bone pain caused by a condition called osteomalacia in adults.
As well as building bones and keeping them healthy, calcium enables our blood to clot, our muscles to contract, and our heart to beat.
About 99% of the calcium in our bodies is in our bones and teeth!
If you think you might be vitamin D deficient, book in to see your GP who will be able to diagnose you. You can also find vitamin D supplements in your local pharmacy.
Some common symptoms of vitamin D deficiency include:
Calcium deficiency and vitamin D deficiency are very closely linked, as vitamin D is required for the absorption of calcium one often leads to the other.
Some common symptoms of calcium deficiency include:
Persons commonly at risk for vitamin D deficiency include those with inadequate sun exposure, limited oral intake, or impaired intestinal absorption.
A variety of issues can cause a vitamin D deficiency. For example, strict dietary requirements such as those who have a vegan diet will find it harder to get all the vitamin D they require in food without the help of supplements. Having limited exposure to sunlight or having a darker skin tone makes you more likely to develop vitamin D deficiency.
In the UK, sunlight doesn’t contain enough UVB radiation in winter (October to early March) for our skin to be able to make vitamin D. During these months, we rely on getting our vitamin D from food sources (including fortified foods) and supplements.
Using sunbeds isn’t a recommended way of making vitamin D.
A vitamin D deficiency can lead to a calcium deficiency, further meaning that those with a vegan diet are more at risk as they also have a lower average calcium intake. High coffee or alcohol intake as well as an increased need for calcium (such as in pregnancy, breastfeeding and puberty) can also play a factor in deficiency.
If you buy Adcal D3 tablets online or from a local pharmacy, they can reduce symptoms of deficiency by increasing your vitamin D and calcium intake.
