How Do Ramipril capsules Work?

Ramipril capsules belong to a class of medication known as ACE Inhibitors (ACE stands for: Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitors). ACE Inhibitors are so-called because they inhibit the enzyme that controls hormones relating to blood pressure. Is Ramipril capsules Safe to Use?

Ramipril capsules can be a safe and effective drug when used as prescribed with the proper precautions taken. However, there are some conditions and medications that may prevent you from taking them. If you are allergic to any of the ingredients present in Ramipril, or if you have ever experienced an allergic reaction known as Angioedema, you should not take Ramipril capsules. You are within the last 6 months of your pregnancy

What are the Side Effects of Ramipril capsules?

As with all medications, you can experience side effects from Ramipril capsules. These may include:

Dizziness, is mostly associated with starting the medication and can often occur when standing up quickly
Headaches
Tiredness
A dry cough
Diarrhoea
Nausea and vomiting

Drinking alcohol can make some of these side effects worse, so it’s recommended you stop drinking when you are starting your Ramipril treatment.

It is possible to experience a mild skin rash when taking Ramipril capsules. However, if you experience any symptoms that indicate a serious allergic reaction such as swelling in the face and throat and difficulty breathing or swallowing, stop taking the medication and see a doctor immediately as you may need urgent medical treatment.
